| Contextual Notes | Leavenworth is on the Wenatchee River twenty miles northwest of Wenatchee in south central Chelan County. It on the site of an Indian village. In 1891, a settlement was established under the name Icicle. In 1892, the town was plotted by and named for Capt. C. F. Leavenworth, who operated Leavenworth Townsite Company.
Company 6436's technical service or division designation was F-29, which indicates that it was assigned to work with the U.S. Forest Service.
