This book has several images of the character Topsy, made famous by "Uncle Tom's Cabin."
"U" is for "moustache as black as night." The illustration depicts Topsy drawing a mustache on a young boy who is carrying a wooden sword and preparing to fight another child.
"V" is for "three little kits behaving nice." The illustration depicts three kittens and a mama cat washing themselves before they dine on mice.
