An alphabet book that depicts tradeswomen. Many of the trades shown are extensions of a woman's domestic duties and responsibilities. It was unusual to have a book about trades at this time which depicts women in business or making money.
The name of the trade is given in French and then translated into English.
"Q" is for "quĂȘteuse" or "alms-gatherer." The illustration depicts two women in a church. One woman is placing a coin in a small purse held by the other woman.
