An alphabet book that features cats and kittens wearing clothes and acting like humans. At the end of the book are short rhymes about various occupations that cats (if we imagined it) might have such as gardener, painter, and cook.
This page illustrates the letter "S". It depicts a cat wearing pants, a vest, and a jacket. He is holding a pen in one hand and squinting in a scholarly fashion at a notebook that he holds in his other hand. The text reads: "S is for a Scholar - just see his wise eyes".
|Contextual Notes||Louis Wain was an English artist best known for his drawings of anthropomorphized large-eyed cats and kittens. |
