An alphabet book that depicts tradeswomen. Many of the trades shown are extensions of a woman's domestic duties and responsibilities. It was unusual to have a book about trades at this time which depicts women in business or making money.
The name of the trade is given in French and then translated into English.
"Z" is for Zephire or Zephyr. The illustration depicts a woman dancing and waving a flower garland over her head.
