NotesInterlocking wooden blocks with embossed and color-printed images and letters.
These blocks are called "safety blocks" because they have mechanically rounded corners and edges. They were used to foster children's language and motor skills.
The images depicted on the blocks include: a unicorn, plane, jackal, rabbit, cat, and duck.
Printed on the box: They last because they are solid wood! All colors are harmless... All edges and corners are rounded for safety. Hours of fun building & spelling with safety blocks. Entertaining, Educational, Interlocking. Set No. 2225, Contents: 25 pieces.
Contextual NotesHalsam Products Company was founded in 1917 by brothers-in-law Harold Elliot and Sam Goss, Jr. (Hal + Sam), and due to their early adoption of automated production, they quickly dominated the block and domino markets. Halsam was purchased by Playskool in 1962. ("A History of Halsam" toyhistory.com)
