A collection of verses that talk about everyday matters such as "Pudding and milk", but also encourage boys and girls to exhibit good behavior and to not lie, steal or associate with bad children.
The illustration on the front cover corresponds to a verse on p. 14 entitled "Lazy Jane", a story about a girl who preferred to romp with naughty girls and boys in lieu of minding her books at school. As a result she grew up a dunce without skills to earn a living and thus became a vagabond without any friends. |
