NotesPrinted in color on cloth and sewn at the spine.
Each letter illustrates a character from a fairy tale.
The title page depicts a wizard. Page 2 depicts A for Aladdin, "the lad with a lamp"; and B for Boy Blue, "he's a lazy young scamp."
Contextual NotesDean's Rag Book Company, Ltd. was founded in Fleet Street in London in 1903 by Henry Samuel Dean to launch his children's rag book idea.
In 1912, Richard Ellett joined Dean's Rag Book Company as company secretary and later became chief designer. Sylvia Wilgoss replaced Ellett as chief designer in 1956.
