| Notes | Hand colored woodcut illustrations. Undated, date based on publisher's address. Printed on cover: Grant and Griffith, successors to J. Harris, corner of St. Paul's Churchyard. This book includes an illustrated alphabet accompanied by a short verse. Very few of the verses have to do with "Goody Two-Shoes" and many of the verses appear to be nonsensible. Illustration depicts the letters S, T, U, and V (soldier, traveller, umbrella and village). The verse for the soldier is a bit bizarre: "'S' is for a soldier, Ready to fly, To kill all the French, Or to eat a mince pye." |
