The text condenses Ex. 20:1-7 (Moses delivering the Ten Commandments to the children of Israel, illustrated on the verso) into a handful of easily understood sentences and then presents questions and answers about the passage. |
| Contextual Notes | The American Sunday-School Union was a cross-denominational national organization founded in Philadelphia in 1824. In addition to establishing Sunday schools in remote areas, the organization was well-known for their children's publications and their reward system for Sunday school children who memorized Scripture. |
