| Contextual Notes | Reverend Isaac Taylor was a well-known engraver and children's book author. He moved to Ongar, a village in Essex, in 1811, and he and his especially artistic and literary family became known as the Taylors of Ongar. Taylor's wife and son, Ann and Isaac, were well-known authors, and his daughters, Ann and Jane, were well-known children's poets who are perhaps best known for their rhyme "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (Source: The Taylors of Ongar, ancestry.com) |
