K stands for kiddies who are able to see more of the country due to improved cars and highways. The illustration depicts a family driving across the United States.
L stands for ladies who "no longer stay drudging in kitchens while other folks play" but now have increased freedom due to cars. The illustration depicts a woman driving a car.
M stands for the money that highways and cheap transportation save us. The illustration depicts a man counting his money, and a truck carrying goods from the factories and farms to the city.
N stands for the necessity of cheap transportation. The verse exhorts readers to "Muster the strength of American voters! Down with high taxes, unjust regulation!" The illustration depicts a crowd of men hurrying to the voting polls.
Contextual NotesGeneral Motors was "instrumental in the creation of the National Highway Users Conference, which became the most powerful lobby in Washington. Highway lobbyists worked directly with lawmakers to craft highway-friendly legislation, and GM's promotional films were showcasing America's burgeoning interstate highway system as the realization of the so-called 'American dream of freedom on wheels.'"
