Probable publication date range based on presumed date (1850) of another Uncle Buncle title listed in Gumuchian (5361) and inscription date seen on another copy. Uncle Buncle's series described as "copy book size--with large coloured engravings"; includes inscription in ink: "To his day, Jones, 1856". A story in verse about a good little boy who behaves well both at school and at home. Text reads: Oh, what a good boy is little John Green! So gentle and kind: and now he is seen with a basket of cakes, some plain and some plum; to his friends round him, he gives them each one. The illustration depicts a young boy sharing a basket of cakes with a group of boys. |
