| Notes | Illustrated with color printed lithographs. Fourth edition. Originally written in German, this is a French translation designed for the use of families and schools. These are leaves from a lesson book that utilizes pictures and objects grouped together conceptually to teach vocabulary and grammar. The illustrations in the book range from exotic flowers, weapons, and modes of transportation to depictions of various geographic locations such as Madrid, the Alps, the Middle East, and the Arctic. Lessons are often written below the illustrations. Together with leaf [2], this leaf depicts a lithograph printing machine. The explanation below the illustration discusses the effects when colors are sumperimposed in a particular order. |
