A story about a French sailor, André Marti, incites a rebellion on a French war ship in the Black Sea in support of the Bolsheviks during the Russian Revolution. He is arrested and imprisoned in France but is released at the demand of the workers, sailors, and soldiers of France. He returns to the Soviet Union and is awarded the Order of the Red Banner.
The back cover depicts two figures shaking hands. One is holding a bayonet and the other is holding a flag that says "Proletarians of all countries unite!"
Contextual NotesAs a military decoration, The Order of the Red Banner recognised heroism in combat or otherwise extraordinary accomplishments of military valour during combat operations. (Source: Wikipedia)
