It describes how a group of Young Pioneers composed of Chinese and Korean children, like their fathers and elder brothers, waged a courageous, relentless struggle against the enemy during the occupation of northeastern China by the Japanese imperialists. These young boys and girls belonged to a guerilla unit operating under the command of the Anti-Japanese Amalgamated Armies of the Northeast, led by the Chinese Communist Party.
