A story in verse about a picnic at Etymology Hall that teaches the nine parts of speech. The introduction on leaf 2 discusses the parts of speech that will be covered in the book: articles, substantive and common nouns, adjectives, pronouns, active and passive verbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Leaf 3 introduces the articles "a" and "the." The articles are represented by two young boys standing outside Etymology Hall. |
