This page presents the nursery rhyme "Ten Little Nigger Boys." The first illustration shows a young black boy choking to death on a piece of watermelon while nine other boys watch. The second illustration shows one boy asleep in bed while the eight other boys watch him. In the rest of the rhyme, one boy refuses to go to Harem and is left behind, one chops himself in half with an axe, one gets stung by a bee, one is accepted into Chancery law, one is swallowed by a red herring, one is hugged to death by a bear, one is "frizzled up" by the sun, the last one gets married, "and then there were none." All of the figures are stereotypically portrayed with large lips and kinky hair.
