CE DATE OF CONSTRUCTIONThs palace was built outside Zanzibar Town by Sultan Bargash (1870-1888). The domed structures seen in jm23, 24, and 26 are baths. The great columns once supported a huge wooden porch that was destroyed by fire in 1899.
