NOTESGowen Hall was originally named Condon Hall; Named John T. Condon, a faculty member from 1899-1926 and the first Dean of Law School at the UW; One of the Law School's first permanent buildings; After 1973, when the Law school moved out, the building was named Gowen Hall after Hebert H. Gowen, an Episcopalian minister, the first professor of Oriental studies (1909); Gowen Hall is currently occupied by the Department of Asian Literature and Political Science.
