| Title | Chilkat blanket, totem poles, and other artifacts on display at the Sheldon Jackson Museum, Sitka, Alaska, ca. 1906 |
| Photographer | Shaw, William T. (William Thomas), b. 1873 |
| Date | ca. 1906 |
| Notes | Chilkat blanket, totem poles, canoes, tools, baskets & nets on display. The Chilkat robe is said to be from Killisnoo from the gravesite of a man who had adopted to Christianity and vowed to give up old customs. The robe with "Diving Whale Pattern", was donated to the museum by his family. Also pictured are two totem poles from Metlakatla that were brought to the museum in 1888 when a group of young men from Father Duncan's Christian community came to the Sitka Industrial Training School. They were about to burn the poles when Sheldon Jackson arrived to bring the young men to Sitka and asked them to spare the poles and bring them to the museum.
