| Contextual Notes | Moscow, Idaho was founded in 1871 by miners and farmers. It was originally named Hog Heaven and then Paradise Valley but in 1875 the name became Moscow. The University of Idaho is located in Moscow, Idaho. The prominent building on the left is the Administration Building, built in 1906. The new plantings are probably due to the new landscape designed by Olmsted Brothers of Massachusetts in 1909. |
