Contextual NotesBurke, Idaho was a mining town located near the Hecla Mine in northern Idaho. The tracks seen in the center of the picture are for the Northern Pacific Railroad. The town is so narrow the tracks run through the center of town. Most of the buildings in this picture burned down in 1923.
