Contextual NotesIn 1905, entrepreneur Alexander Malcolmson formed the Aerocar Motor Company. He was forced to sell his holdings in the Ford Motor Company in 1906, because the Aerocar competed directly with Ford's Model K. In 1908, the company went under and Malcolmson went back to the lucrative coal business.
