| Contextual Notes | In the 1890s, the Cudahy Packing Company was one of the largest providers of canned meats and animal food products. In 1892, it killed 650, 000 hogs and 250, 000 cattle. The company operated plants in Omaha, Sioux City, Seattle and Los Angeles.
