This favorite resort is located in the Blue Mountains in Eastern Oregon, on the banks of the Umatilla River. | Contextual Notes | In 1864, an inn called "Warm Springs" was built along the Thomas and Ruckel Road near Gibbon, Oregon. In 1892, the stagecoach stop was renamed "Bingham Springs" by its new owner (Dr. John E. Bingham) and expanded into a hotel resort with a 40 by 60-foot pool.
