| Contextual Notes | In 1883, the Seattle Hardware Company opened a storefront in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. Financially fueled by outfitting miners of the Alaskan Gold Rush in the 1890s, it eventually moved into its own seven-story building on First Ave. S. and King St. in 1905.
