Advertisement TextA first-class boarding and day school for girls only, conducted by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Thorough instruction is given in all the English branches, art, music and modern languages. Plain sewing and fancy needlework taught without extra charge. Stenography and typewriting are among the elective studies. Satisfactory references must be presented by all those entering their daughters or wards. For full particulars, address Sister Superior.
Contextual NotesHoly Names Academy was established as a school for young women in 1880 by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. In 1884, the Catholic school moved to the above location and served all 12 grades.
