| Building Notes | Roland Terry was a leading force behind the rise of modernist buildings in the postwar period and through the middle of the 20th century. Incorporating natural materials, open spaces, interior and landscape design with architecture, Terry's designs constitute some of the best examples of Northwest Modernist architecture. From 1974 to 1980, Terry partnered with his longtime associate, architect Robert Egan, as Terry & Egan. Although the partnership with Robert Egan represented a shift away from residential design towards larger commercial projects, Terry and Egan continued residential work on a limited number of projects, such as this residence for Senhor Francisco E. De Paula Machado in Brazil. |
