AbstractThe author summarizes the amendment in the 1997 constitution, as compared to preceding Thai constitutions. She particularly focuses on issues concerning women's rights and empowerment. Illustrating the constitution article by article, the author argues that the improvement of women's status in Thai society is possible through the effective implementation of the new constitution.
