AbstractThe author analyzes the situation of female Thai migrant workers in foreign countries on both micro and macro levels. The article illustrates Thailand's patriarchy and socioeconomic change in the past few decades that have effects on gender relations and sexual division of labor. It also reports on problems concerning illegal and undocumented labor and international sex trade rackets. Statistics of female Thai migrant workers from various sources are also included.
