TitleKanpradit sang prapheni : prawatsat khong patchuban The Invention of Tradition : A history of the Present
AuthorThanet Aphonsuwan
AbstractIn this article, the author applies the thesis proposed by British historian Eric Hobsbawm in his book, ""The Invention of Tradition: A History of the Present"" to the Thai context. According to the historian, tradition is invented under the rubrics of history to serve needs and functions of society. The author argues that this is also the case with Thai society and he gives examples of such traditions.
