AbstractThe author presents the story and pictures of the first steam ship run in the Khong River. The ship was owned by the France government. It was named Lagrandiere to honor General Admiral Lagrandiere who helped France successfully colonize Indochina during the colonial period. This ship hit the rock and sank in the Mae Khong River on July 15, 1912. The accident killed all passengers.
