AbstractSisak Wanliphodom, a Thai archeologist, presents an interesting story of the ancient symbol known as ""talew"". He explains that ""talew"" has a universal meaning and it was found in almost every region where the Buddhist-Hindu influeneced beliefs were widespread. It is a symbolic object relating to the Buddhist cosmological belief. It is regarded as an auspicious object and was used as a frontier maker in some areas.
