Source of date: guessed by cataloger. Justification: Martha appears to be about 55 years old in this photo. According to Olive Lempie's obituary posted on the web page ""Genealogical Research in Clallam County Washington"" attributed to Carol Foss (last viewed at http://www.olypen.com/rfoss/pioneerobitm.html#mayburymartha), Martha was born in 1855.

Family lineage: Liane White's maternal great-great grandmother was Martha (Irwin) Merchant Maybury, probably born in 1855. She had 6 daughters: Rose Merchant (Sands), Maud Merchant (Wentworth), Ellen (Bay) Merchant (Palmer), Delphina (Deede) Merchant (Palmer), Elizabeth (Lizzie) Merchant and Olive Merchant (Lempie). The latter daughter, Olive -- Liane's great-grandmother -- had a daughter Wynona Whitcomb. Wynona Whitcomb was Liane's grandmother. |
