CaptionDel Baker played professional baseball for 22 years, the first three of which were in the majors for the Detroit Tigers from 1914-16. He played in the minors for the San Francisco Seals, the Portland Beavers, and the Oakland Oaks. In 1940 as a coach and manager, he led the Detroit Tigers to their sixth pennant. He continued coaching until 1942.

This photograph of Baker batting is taken in Seattle's second Dugdale stadium towards the end of his career when he played for the Oakland Oaks and is likely around 1928.
