| Caption | Longacres Park racetrack was located in the Green River Valley near Renton, Washington. For many years, the river flooded regularly, damaging homes and farms. Curiously, the periodic flooding produced a soil that was excellent for horse racing tracks. The thoroughbreds that raced at Longacres set numerous speed records because the track itself gave them an advantage. |
