| Photographer | Ellis, J. Boyd |
| Date | ca. 1940 |
| Caption | Inns and resorts sprang up along the road through Snoqualmie Pass. A stop at the summit of the pass was particularly popular with travelers. Starting in 1931, when the road department began to keep the road open all winter, people traveled to the pass to ski. Many stopped for a meal or an overnight stay at the Summit Inn. On this photographic postcard, probably made sometime in the 1940s, cars and buses crowd the snowfilled parking lot at the Summit Inn at Snoqualmie Pass. |
