CaptionSeattle's 1913 Golden Potlatch, the distant ancestor of the Seafair festival, opened on July 16. For the next several days, Seattle residents and visitors were treated to parades, an air show, boat races, a wild west show and numerous other events. This 1913 Potlatch festival photo shows two men participating in one of the festival's boat races on Lake Washington.
