| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | 1940 |
| Caption | For many years, the Seattle Art Museum has trained people, called docents, to talk with school groups and other visitors about the museum's artworks. In this September 1940 photo, a docent tells a group of school children about a Qing dynasty Chinese stone sculpture. The sculpture, Statesman, is part of the museum's large Asian art collection. It now stands on the grand staircase of the museum's downtown location. |
