| Caption | Seattle was rocked in a large earthquake on the evening of February 14, with aftershocks felt into the early morning hours of February 15, 1946. The quake was estimated at a 6.3 magnitude. At the time, the quake was the strongest in recorded Seattle area history, and damage was extensive. This photo shows the collapse of a brick wall at the Frye & Co. packing plant, located at Airport Way and Walker Street. |
