CaptionIn the early morning of February 18, 1848, the Great Northern mail train heading south to Seattle hit a huge landslide 2 1/2 miles south of Mukilteo. The locomotive landed on its side in the water. Two trainmen were injured, but both survived.
This locomotive 2507 is now on display, fully restored to its Great Northern colors, in the Columbia River town of Wishram, Washington.
