	Crowd entering the Bon Marché from newly opened skybridge, 1960 Title Crowd entering the Bon Marché from newly opened skybridge, 1960 Photographer Stearns Date 1960 Caption The Bon Marché was founded in 1890 by German immigrants Edward and Josephine Nordhoff. Originally located in Seattle's Belltown district at First Ave and Cedar Street, it soon moved to a more central location downtown at Second and Pine Streets. The Bon Marché went through much construction throughout the years. In 1960 a skybridge was built connecting the Bon with a parking garage across the street for the convenience of shoppers. In this photograph shoppers burst through the doors of the skybridge leading into the Bon Marché.
