| Caption | This photo depicts U.S. Olympic swim team members Helene Madison and Georgia Coleman sitting atop a wooden horse, and was probably taken when the swimmers were in Los Angeles for the 10th Olympic Games in August 1932. Madison won three Olympic gold medals at the 1932 games, in the 100 and 400 meters freestyle and the 400 meter relay. Coleman, a diver, won the gold in the 3 meter springboard event and the silver in the 10 meter platform competition. |
