CaptionIn February 1898, a group of Seattle Theater owners met to discuss business and ended up founding a new organization - the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Like many other fraternal organizations, the group provided members with medical and funeral benefits, before these became widely available.

In 1924, Eagles Aerie #1 built an elegant new lodge on Seventh Avenue at Union Street in downtown Seattle. The building was renovated in 1995 and now houses the Act Theater.
