CaptionLeslie Earnest 'Wildcat' Carter began boxing at the age of 14, about the same time he moved to Seattle from Edmonton, Alberta. As a young man, he fought several veteran boxers and later became a professional boxer in the mid-1920s. He boxed internationally until the beginning of World War II when he enlisted in the Army and served as a physical education instructor until his honorable discharge. He did not box again.

This photo was taken during the full-swing of his career at the Crystal Pool when he fought and beat veteran boxer Vic Foley on November 22, 1927.
