TitleForeman with track motor car, ca. 1937
PhotographerUnknown
Dateca. 1937
CaptionThe foreman and his motor car pause while the track gang works in the distance. Scenes like this were common throughout King County on mainline, logging and industrial railroads. The motor car is typical of those used prior to World War II. Note that the track just behind the motor car is spiked only every other tie, indicating work in progress. This photo may have been taken near Stampede Pass on the Northern Pacific Railway.
