| Title | Top of the Space Needle, Seattle World's Fair, 1962 |
| Photographer | Unknown |
| Date | 1962 |
| Caption | The 605-foot Space Needle was one of the highlights of Century 21, the Seattle World's Fair. The Needle's color scheme followed the futuristic theme of the fair - Galaxy Gold for the roof, Astronaut White for the legs, Orbital Olive for the core, and Re-entry Red for the halo.
Here, workmen put the finishing touches on the roof and halo. The view is toward the southeast, with the Cascade Range in the far distance. |
