| Caption | Born in Bennington, Vermont, Horace Chapin Henry joined the Union Army and fought at Gettysburg. After the Civil War, he moved to Minneapolis and worked for a railroad contractor. In 1890, he came to Washington to construct the Northern Pacific Railway. The Henry family resided in Seattle and supported many local philanthropic interests such as the anti-tuberculosis league. |
