| Photographer | Staff Photographer Seattle Post-Intelligencer |
| Date | 1943 |
| Caption | With farmers in need of pickers, many Seattle area residents, including nearly 400 youths, volunteered to help out with the effort. The United States Employment Service and the Council of Social Agencies supplied twelve-to-sixteen-year-old pickers for the Victory Youth Farm Aid Corps. The program called for two adult volunteer supervisors for each twenty children, a quota which was not fulfilled, but the children were sent out anyway.
In this 1943 photo, members of the Victory Youth Farm Aid Corps show off their trays of freshly-picked raspberries. |
